LYNC Academy Overview
LYNC Academy exists to coordinate life-changing personal growth through LYNC's model of care.
Who We Serve
At LYNC Academy, we support youth and families who are struggling to thrive in a traditional school environment. Our program is designed to meet students where they are and guide them toward emotional, academic, and behavioral stability.
What We Do
The LYNC Model strengthens systemic social-emotional learning by working with the student, family, and school district as a unified team.
We help students:
Feel safe and supported
Identify, understand, and manage their emotions
Build resilience and set achievable goals
Address academic barriers and develop skills to persevere
Strengthen family engagement to support success across home, school, and community
A successful transition back to school includes growth in emotional well-being, increased confidence in challenging situations, academic progress, and consistent support across all environments.
Community Experiences
Students engage in hands-on, community-based learning through partnerships with:
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
Commerce for Change
YMCA
Einstein Project / Makerspace
Brown County Library
Local volunteer opportunities
These experiences help students build confidence, connection, and real-world skills.
How We Support Students
Our trauma-informed approach is rooted in unconditional positive regard and emotional safety. Through experiential learning, students move toward academic completion, emotional regulation, and readiness for a successful return to their home school.
Why It Works
The LYNC Model centers the whole child by prioritizing academic success and social-emotional learning. We connect students and families to the resources, opportunities, and relationships needed for long-term success in all environments.
Who We Are
LYNC Academy is a Wisconsin DPI-licensed Private School, staffed by state-licensed social workers and educators with over 50 years of combined experience in education, mental health, and trauma-informed care.
LYNC Time (Student SEL Support)
Clinical staff provide up to 10 hours of individualized Social-Emotional Learning support each month, helping students practice emotional regulation, build coping strategies, and reinforce their transition goals.
Family Engagement
Families and caregivers are vital partners in a student’s growth. Our licensed social workers provide bi-weekly Family Engagement sessions—in the home, community, or at LYNC—to:
Review goals and progress
Maintain alignment across environments
Support behavior and transition plans
Share common language and strategies
Connect families to community resources
This ensures that skills learned at LYNC carry over into every space the student occupies.
The LYNC Model of Care for Businesses & Organizations
The philosophy behind the LYNC Model extends far beyond the classroom. We partner with businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to bring trauma-informed, relationship-centered practices into the workplace.
By applying the same principles that guide our student programming, organizations can:
Strengthen staff communication and collaboration
Build emotionally safe and supportive work cultures
Reduce burnout through understanding emotional regulation and stress responses
Improve team resilience and problem-solving
Enhance leadership capacity through trauma-informed approaches
Increase staff retention by fostering connection, predictability, and trust
Whether through staff training, workshops, or organizational consultation, the LYNC Model of Care helps workplaces become healthier, more connected, and better equipped to support both employees and the communities they serve.
